Orientation meeting with MAEP personnel
Following the nomination of the representative of the Ministry into the Secretariat, an orientation meeting with Mr Hery Ranaivoson (MAEP) was held at the GCD office on January 15,2009.
Here are some of the highlights of the discussion.
MAEP personnel will undertake the following tasks :
- Collect all of the existing data on the extension of SRI among the Regional Director of Rural Development DRDRs
- Collaborate with the Secretariat for the analysis and compilation of the collected data
- Actively participate to all of the meetings of the SRI Group
- Support the DRDR in the elaboration of a 3-year action plan for the diffusion of SRI in a larger scale
- Play the role as an interface among Secretariat, Ministry of Agriculture and DRDRs in order to establish a better collaboration with DRDR for the promotion of SRI.
While the original option of the Ministry was to affect the personnel of MAEP at the office of GCD, we all agreed that it is best that he would still work at the office of the MAEP but will consider as his priority all of the work with the Secretariat.
The personnel from MAEP will provide to the Secretariat the latest version of the Monography of the Regions in order to enrich the SRI database. In addition, he agrees to be the interface between the Secretariat and the MAEP/DRDR and collaborate for the sharing of information from MAEP and DRDRs.
